Salvador Dalí honored in Monaco this summer

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Salvador Dalí’s death, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco will promote a special exhibition of the works of the Spanish painter. A total of 4,000m² will be used to display the artist’s most famous paintings, drawings, archives and photographs from 1910 to 1983, which will tell the different influences and stages of his life.

It is believed that the exhibition will not be a mere retrospective of Dalí’s trajectory, but rather a highlight of his work within the history of the 20th-century art – since the painter, in addition to being a great name for the surrealist style, had influences of diverse other movements like Impressionism and Cubism.

As if that were not enough, throughout his life, his muse Gala introduced Dalí into the world of classical culture and Renaissance artists inspiring the painter a new period of creation, the mystic-nuclear. It was several curious and remarkable periods of his history, that can be unveiled in his honor.

The exhibition was commissioned by Montse Aguer, director of museums Dalí, who was in charge of deepening the history of Dali, as well as his link with painting. The place could not be more inspiring, as the Grimaldi Forum Monaco is an eco-cultural center, overlooking the Mediterranean sea.
