Grupo Prada announces no fur policy

Another victory for the fashion world! The Prada Group has followed in the footsteps of brands such as Versace, Gucci, Jean Paul Gaultier, Burberry and Chanel and has announced that it will stop to use fur in its collections. The new policy will be adopted already on the next the spring / summer 2020 collection. Meanwhile, the stock will be sold until the time they run out of stores.

The new policy is in collaboration with the Fur Free Alliance (FFA), which has already achieved results in other luxury companies such as FFA, LAV and The Humane Society of the United States.

“The Fur Free Alliance applauds the Prada Group for deciding not to use fur anymore,” said Joh Vinding, president of the Fur Free Alliance. “The Prada Group and its brands now joins a growing list of free skin tags that are responding to changing consumer attitudes towards animals.”

The decision to no longer use fur is conscious and adapts to the new consumer need, which does not compare more with the use of animal resources. “The Prada Group is committed to innovation and social responsibility, and a fur free policy – achieved after a positive dialogue with the Fur Free Alliance, in particular with the LAV and the Humane Society of the United States – is an extension of this engagement “Said Miuccia Prada, who further commented on the company exploring new boundaries of creative design.
